The crash started when a southbound SUV crashed into a concrete center divider and remained in a traffic lane. Moments later, a truck was unable to avoid the SUV and struck it.

Pleasant Hill, Calif – One person was killed Friday night in a crash involving three vehicles on 680 Freeway near Pleasant Hill Shopping Center.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly crash happened at about 9:50 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024, on southbound Interstate 680 near Concord Avenue.
Reportedly, the crash started when a southbound SUV crashed into a concrete center divider and remained in a traffic lane. Moments later, a truck was unable to avoid the SUV and struck it. A third vehicle was also involved in the crash.
The driver of the SUV was killed in the incident. No one else was hurt in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
