One driver was cited for DUI after the crash on the eastbound side of the 80 Freeway

Oakland, Calif. – At least one person sustained major injuries in a DUI accident that happened Monday night on the Bay Bridge in Oakland, the California Highway Patrol said.
The incident was reported around 10:21 p.m. on the eastbound 80 Freeway near the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge Toll Plaza on-ramp.
A pickup truck and a sedan were involved in the collision. The vehicles were blocking traffic lanes after the crash.
CHP officers and Oakland firefighters responded to the scene.
The report said major injuries were sustained in the crash.
One driver was cited for DUI and transported to Highland Hospital in unknown condition.
CHP is investigating the cause of the collision.
