Carpinteria Man Identified as Cyclist Killed in Crash on Hwy 150 near Rincon Road in Santa Barbara

, Calif. – The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's has identified Steven Kingsley, 80, of Carpinteria as a cyclist struck and killed Tuesday morning on Highway 150 near Carpinteria in Santa Barbara.

Authorities responded to the wreck at around 8:44 a.m. on Highway 150 near Rincon Road between Highway 101 and Via Real.

A preliminary investigation indicated that Kingsley made an unsafe lane change in front of the car as they were travelling in the same direction and were hit by the car.

Kingsley was pronounced dead at the crash site.

Santa Barbara, Calif. – One person was killed in a accident that occurred near Carpinteria in Santa Barbara on Tuesday morning.

The accident happened around 8:43 a.m. on Highway 150 near Rincon Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A vehicle reportedly struck a bicyclist on the highway in unclear circumstances.

CHP reports that one person was killed in the accident.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
