Provencio was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the accident scene

Bakersfield, Calif. – 79-year-old Gloria Provencio has been identified as the woman who died after being struck by a car on Wednesday night in Bakersfield.
The accident happened around 11:33 p.m. on January 10, at Stockdale Highway and Real Road, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
The Bakersfield woman was in the westbound lanes of the highway and was struck by a car.
Provencio was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The driver of the car did not stop at the scene and was yet to be located.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
