Authorities say Brian Johnson was struck by a car while crossing the street in the the 21900 block of Highway 18 and Pawnee Road

Apple Valley, Calif. – The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner has identified the pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle at an intersection in Apple Valley as Brian Dean Johnson, 55, of Apple Valley.
According to the Coroner, Brian Johnson was pronounced dead on scene at 6:12 p.m. Thursday, January 11, just about seven minutes after being struck by a vehicle at US Highway 18 and Pawnee Road.

Apple Valley, Calif. – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car on State Route 18 in Apple Valley Thursday evening.
According to the Apple Valley Police Department, the deadly auto-pedestrian accident happened at around 6:05 p.m. at Highway 18 and Pawnee Road.
A pedestrian was struck by a car while crossing the streets in unclear circumstances.
The victim was pronounced dead at the crash site.
The identity of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.
The eastbound lanes at Navajo Road and Highway 18 remained closed for the investigation.
Additional information about the wreck was not provided.
An investigation is underway.
