The cyclist was transported to Riverside University Health System Medical Center where he later died

Hemet, Calif. – The Riverside County Sheriff's-Coroner has identified the bicyclist who was fatally injured in a crash on San Jacinto Street as David Romero, 58, of Hemet.
Romero was found by first responders trapped under a car on San Jacinto Street near El NIta Lane. He was transported to Riverside University Health System Medical Center where he died at around 7:28 p.m. the same day.

Hemet, Calif. – A bicyclist was struck and killed by a suspected drunk driver in Hemet Saturday evening, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
The DUI collision happened at about 6:31 p.m. Saturday, January 13 on San Jacinto Street about 111 feet south of El Nita Lane, as per the sheriff's press release.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and found the male cyclist trapped under a car. The cyclist was transported to Riverside University Health System Medical Center where he later died.
Hemet Police Department says the bicyclist was struck in the northbound lane of San Jacinto Street. It was not immediately clear which direction the cyclist was heading when he was hit.
As per the police report, the driver of the involved vehicle was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The crash remains under investigation.
