, Calif. – A woman died another pedestrian was hospitalized after they were struck by a car in Vermont in Los Angeles.

The auto-pedestrian accident happened around 11 p.m. on Vermont Avenue near 94th Street, according to a local news source.

The two pedestrians were in a crosswalk when a speeding Kia SUV struck them.

The woman, believed to be in her 20s or 30s, died at the accident scene.

The second victim suffered major injuries and was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

The SUV driver abandoned the car at Vermont Avenue and 90th Street and was yet to be located.
