One driver was traveling eastbound on Panama Lane and the other was westbound on the same street when they collided head-on

Bakersfield, Calif. – Two people were seriously injured following a head-on traffic collision on Panama Lane in Bakersfield early Sunday morning, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The crash happened at about 5:04 a.m. on January 14 on Panama Lane east of Oswell Street.
As per the CHP, A 62-year-old man from Bakersfield was driving a 2013 GMC westbound on Panama Lane, east of Oswell Street approaching an eastbound 2022 Cadillac.
For reasons still under investigation, the two vehicles collided head-on leaving both drivers with major injuries.
CHP officials are investigating to determine whether drugs and/or alcohol were a factor in the incident.
