Conrad Duenas Killed in Modesto Motorcycle Accident at Crows Landing Road and Ehrlich Road

Modesto, Calif. – The authorities have released the name of a motorcyclist who was struck and killed by a suspected DUI driver in Modesto on Saturday evening.

The Stanislaus County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Conrad Duenas, 46, of Modesto.

According to the CHP, Duenas was riding his red 2020 Harley-Davidson Heritage northbound on Crows Landing Road approaching the Ehrlich Road intersection at about 7:55 p.m. on January 13. At the same time, Federico Avina, 47, of , was driving a white 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup southbound on Crows Landing Road at around 35 mph, approaching Ehrlich Road.

As per the CHP, Avina failed to yield the right of way to Duenas and turned left from Crows Landing onto Ehrlich Road, going directly into the patch of Duenas' motorcycle. The motorcycle crashed into the right side of the pickup and Duenas was ejected and came to rest under the vehicle.

Duenas was pronounced dead at the scene.

Avina was not injured in the crash. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the alcohol. Police say Avina faces charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and DUI causing injury.

Modesto, Calif. – A 46-year-old motorcycle rider was after being hit by a vehicle at an intersection in Modesto, according to the California Highway Patrol.

According to the CHP, a 47-year-old man driving a Chevrolet Silverado failed to yield the right of way at the intersection of Crows Landing Road and Ehrlich Road and struck the motorcyclist.

The rider was ejected from the motorcycle and was found under the vehicle.

The 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
