Santa Barbara, Calif. – The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office has identified 25-year-old Thomas McGregor of Santa Barbara as a male driver killed in a head-on crash early this month in Santa Barbara.
The wreck happened just before 3 a.m. on January 5 on southbound Highway 101 near Dos Pueblos Canyon Road.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department said a pickup truck operated by McGregory collided head-on with a semi-truck in unclear circumstances. After the collision, the pickup truck caught fire.
McGregory was pronounced dead at the crash site.
The semi-truck driver suffered minor injuries.
The cause of the wreck remains under investigation.

Santa Barbara County, Calif. – One person was killed in a head-on collision on State Route 101 in Santa Barbara County early Friday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the wreck happened at around 2:47 a.m. on the southbound Highway 101 just north of No Dos Pueblos Canyon Road.
A semi-truck collided head-on with a pickup truck in unclear circumstances. The impact caused the pickup to be fully burned.
A lot of oil had spilled on the roadway.
One person was killed in the accident.
The identity of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.
