Santa Maria, Calif. – The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office has released the name of a who was struck and killed near Orcutt on Saturday.

Lonell Oliver, 57, of Lompoc was struck and killed by a gray Toyota Camry at about 5 p.m. on January 13 on southbound Highway 1 near Highway 135.

According to the County Fire Department, Oliver was standing in the roadway when he was struck by the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, a 19-year-old Lompoc man, was not injured in the incident. He remained at the crash scene and cooperated with investigators.

Santa Maria, Calif. – A pedestrian died after being struck by a car in Santa Maria on Saturday evening.

At around 5:00 p.m., the California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a pedestrian accident on Highway 1 near Highway 135.

A gray Toyota Camry reportedly struck a pedestrian on the highway in unclear circumstances.

The unidentified pedestrian was killed in the accident.

The name of the victim was not immediately disclosed.
