A preliminary investigation indicated that a small sedan collided head-on with a minivan in unclear circumstances

Tucson, Ariz. – One person was killed in a head-on collision on State Route 83 in Vail early Thursday morning, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The deadly auto-car accident was reported at around 3:08 a.m. on Highway 83 at milepost 56.
A preliminary investigation indicated that a small sedan collided head-on with a minivan in unclear circumstances.
The male driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the crash site. His name was withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
Authorities say the driver of the minivan was contacted and determined to be impaired, resulting in their arrest for DUI.
More details regarding the collision were not available.
The crash remains under investigation.
