Scottsdale, Ariz. – One of the five people who were hospitalized following a traffic collision at an intersection in Scottsdale Tuesday afternoon is dead.
Authorities say the woman had sustained life-threatening injuries after a minivan and a commercial van collided at 84th Street and Shea Boulevard at about 3 p.m. on January 16.
One of the vehicles belongs to the Cave Creek Unified School District.
The woman, whose name has not been released, was among five other patients who were hospitalized following the crash.
The woman died at the hospital.

According to the authorities, the major injury crash was reported near 84th Street and Shea Boulevard.
Responding crews located multiple vehicles in the area. The events leading up to the accident were not immediately established.
Five people were seriously injured in the wreck. At least one of the injured patients appears to have sustained life-threatening injuries.
All victims were transported to a hospital for treatment.
