Update: Police Identify Pedestrian Fatally Hit at Center Street NE and High Street NE in Salem

Salem, Ore. –  66-year-old Robert D. Marshall of Salem has been identified as a struck and killed by a car at an intersection in Salem a week ago.

The auto-pedestrian wreck happened at around 4:56 p.m. on January 12 at Center Street NE and High Street NE.

Marshall was crossing the street in the crosswalk on the east side of the intersection when The driver a pick-up truck operated by 48-year-old Shawnda Blair initiated a left turn and struck him.

Marshall was transported to the hospital with severe injuries, where he later died.

Police have not cited or arrested anybody and are continuing to investigate.

Salem, Ore. – A pedestrian was hospitalized after being hit by a car Friday afternoon at an intersection in Salem, the Salem Police Department said.

The accident was reported around 4:56 p.m. at Center Street NE and High Street NE.

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the intersection under unclear circumstances.

Emergency personnel transported the victim to the hospital with significant injuries.

Salem police officers closed the intersection until around 8:20 p.m. while investigating.
