Michael Lasley Dies in Head-On COliision on Highway 97 in Klamath County

Klamath County, Ore.Michael Randolph Lasley, 78, of (CA), was killed in a head-on collision on Highway 97 in Klamath County Wednesday evening.

According to the Oregon State Police, the wreck was reported at around 6:28 p.m. on January 17 on Highway 97 near milepost 197.

Per the report, Lasley was driving a northbound GMC pickup truck when for unknown reasons drifted into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a southbound Peterbilt commercial motor vehicle and trailer.

Lasley was pronounced dead at the crash site.

The truck driver Zachary Ryan Sprangler, 29, of Grants Pass sustained no injuries in the wreck.

The highway was impacted for approximately 5 hours during the on-scene investigation.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
