San Mateo, Calif. – A pedestrian was fatally hit by a train in San Mateo on Thursday morning, according to the authorities.
The crash took place near Hayward Park Station at about 11:33 a.m. January 18.
Caltrain officials said train no. 505 was traveling north when it hit a pedestrian in the area.
The victim was killed in the incident.
There were 72 passengers onboard the train but none of them were hurt.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
