A motorcycle and a vehicle reportedly collided in the area near University Drive and 52nd Street

Tempe, Ariz. – A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a vehicle in Tempe on Friday evening, according to the Tempe Police Department.
The crash took place on University Drive and 52nd Street shortly before 9 p.m. January 19.
A motorcycle and a vehicle reportedly collided in the area under unclear circumstances.
The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital, where the rider died.
Roads in the area were expected to be closed for an extended period of time as authorities investigated the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
