19-year-Old Killed, Man and Wife Injured in Crash on San Pasqual Road

San Pasqual Valley, Calif. – One person was killed and two others were injured following a fiery two-vehicle traffic collision in San Saqual Valley Sunday afternoon, according to the San Diego Police Department.

The crash happened at about 1:35 p.m. at 13550 San Pasqual Road near Sunset Hills.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 19-year-old man was driving a red 2003 Pontiac eastbound on San Pasqual Road when he lost control and veered into the opposite lane where he collided with a white 2003 Chevrolet Bolt.

According to the San Diego Police Department, both vehicles caught fire after the collision.

The 19-year-old driver sustained injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim was withheld pending notification to the next of kin.

The driver of the Chevy and his wife, ages 79 and 80 years, were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

No additional information regarding the crash was provided.

The incident remains under investigation.
