Rancho Bernardo, Calif. – One person was seriously hurt in a in the Rancho Bernardo neighborhood on Sunday afternoon, according to the San Diego Police Department.

The wreck took place on Camino Del Norte and Paseo Montanoso at about 1:11 p.m. January 21.

A 24-year-old driver of a Honda allegedly failed to stop for a red light and broadsided a Toyota that was making a left turn onto Paseo Montanoso.

An 87-year-old passenger in the Toyota suffered major injuries including a fractured pelvis, a fractured sternum and rib fractures.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
