Tucson, Ariz. – 43-year-old Melissa Marie King has been identified as bicycle rider killed in wreck on Wilmot Road in Tucson Sunday night.
The Tucson Police Department said the collision was reported shortly after 9 p.m. on January 21 at the intersection of South Wilmot Road and East 34th Street.
Reportedly, King was riding her bicycle southbound in the northbound lanes of Wilmot, between the middle and curb lanes.
A vehicle traveling northbound in the curb lane saw her ahead and began braking.
The Toyota, which was behind the first vehicle that was braking, also started to brake and maneuvered left into the middle lane to avoid colliding with the vehicle in front of them.
As the Toyota moved to the middle lane, King also moved into the middle lane to avoid being struck by the first vehicle and subsequently collided with the Toyota.
An investigation is ongoing.

Tucson, Ariz – A bicyclist was killed in a collision in Tucson on Sunday night, according to the Tucson Police Department.
The crash happened on 34th and Wilmot at about 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 21.
A bicyclist was reportedly hit by a vehicle in the area.
The bicyclist died in the accident.
No further details were released.
The accident is under investigation.
