One person was hospitalized after being struck by a car on Highway 51 near Highway 99 in Sacramento

Sacramento, Calif. – A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a car early Tuesday morning in Sacramento.
The collision was reported around 5:50 a.m. on Highway 51 near the Highway 99 connector, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A vehicle is reported to have struck a pedestrian on the highway in unclear circumstances.
CHP reports that one person suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Additional information about the accident was not provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
