4 Injured After SUV Crashes into School Bus in Vancouver

Vancouver, Wash. – Four people, including a child, were injured after a sports utility vehicle crashed into a school bus in Vancouver Wednesday morning.

According to the Vancouver Police Department, the crash occurred at about 9:10 a.m. in the area of 28th Street and 119th Avenue.

Police say an SUV ran a red light at the intersection and crashed into a school bus that was traveling southbound on 119th Avenue.

The SUV caught fire after the impact. Fortunately, a bystander used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire before firefighters arrived at the scene.

Authorities say four people sustained minor injuries in the incident. Three of the patients were transported to area hospitals. The fourth patient, a child, was treated for injuries to their face. Authorities did not say whether the child was in the SUV or the school bus.

According to Evergreen School District, the bus was carrying students with Cascade Middle School.
