San Marcos, Calif. – The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the driver who died last week in a two-vehicle crash in San Marcos as Alejandro Gomez Jr., 24, of Escondido.
Gomez Jr. was operating a Subaru SUV that rear-ended a Porsche SUV and overturned. Gomez was extricated from the overturned vehicle and transported to Palomar Medical Center where he was declared dead.

San Marcos, Calif. – One person was killed after a vehicle overturned in a traffic collision on San Marcos Boulevard in San Marcos last week Tuesday evening, according to the San Diego County Sheriff.
The crash happened at about 6:29 p.m. in the 1300 block of San Marcos Boulevard.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a Subaru SUV crashed into the rear of a Porsche SUV and overturned.
The driver of the Subaru became trapped in the overturned vehicle. Firefighters responded to the scene and extricated the trapped man before transporting him to Palomar Medical Center. unfortunately, the man was pronounced dead upon arrival at the emergency department.
No additional details were provided.
The incident remains under investigation.
