A motorcycle and two cars were involved in the collision near Portola Avenue

Livermore, Calif. – A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Tuesday morning on a freeway in Livermore.
The accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. on the westbound Interstate 580 near Portola and Livermore avenues.
Authorities said the collision involved a motorcycle and two cars.
The motorcyclist reportedly went from the slow lane to the fast lane prior to the crash.
The rider and the bike were left blocking the No. 1 lane after the accident.
The motorcyclist sustained major injuries.
A SigAlert was issued closing the HOV and No. 1 lanes of westbound I-580 just west of N. Livermore Avenue following the accident.
