Peters had just parked his vehicle and was crossing Western Avenue when he was struck by a newer model Honda Goldwing motorcycle.

Los Angeles, Calif. – A motorcyclist has been arrested after striking a pedestrian who later died in hospital last year in South Los Angeles.
The collision happened at around 11:45 p.m. on May 4, near Western Avenue at 79th Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
72-year-old Raymond Peters had just parked his vehicle and was crossing Western Avenue when he was struck by a newer model Honda Goldwing motorcycle.
Peters suffered major injuries and was transported to the hospital where he later died.
The rider, identified as Mark Taylor, fled the scene after hitting the pedestrian. He later turned himself in at the department's 77th Station on Tuesday.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
