Two people were injured, and a driver fled the scene of the two-vehicle collision that happened Saturday afternoon
Riverside County, Calif. – Two people were hospitalized after a traffic collision that took place Saturday afternoon near an intersection in Mecca, the California Highway Patrol said.
The accident was reported around 5:11 p.m. near 66th Avenue and Grant Street.
Two vehicles collided near the intersection under unclear circumstances.
One of the cars fled the scene before authorities arrived.
Cal Fire personnel responded to the scene and assessed three car occupants for injuries. Two were hospitalized. One patient sustained minor injuries, including a laceration to the gum area. The other was complained of pain.
The report did not give a description of the suspect driver or vehicle.
An investigation is ongoing.
