Update: Names of Three Teens Killed in Violent Crash at End of Fontana Police Chase Released

, Calif. – Authorities identified the three teens who died in a high-speed collision late Saturday night at the end of a police chase in Fontana as Carter High School students.

The three were 15-year-old Robert Rias, 15-year-old Omar Pitts, and 14-year-old Domonic Adams Jr.

Rias and Adams died at the scene while Pitts died while receiving treatment at the hospital.

The deceased were passengers in a white Nissan Sentra driven by another teen who remains hospitalized with serious injuries.

The violent crash happened around 10:44 p.m. at Valley Boulevard and Cypress Avenue.

The Fontana Police Department said their officers attempted to pull over the Nissan for “vehicle code violations,” but the driver did not stop.

The officers started a pursuit that reached speeds of over 100 miles per hour but only lasted a short time, ending in a violent collision.

The Nissan collided with a police patrol car that was responding to the chase.

Two police officers in the patrol vehicle involved were hospitalized with serious injuries. Authorities said one of the officers was released but the other remained at the hospital.

The crash is being investigated by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

Fontana, Calif. – Two people died after a high-speed police pursuit ended in a car crash on Saturday night in Fontana.

The double- crash happened at the intersection of Valley Boulevard and Cypress Avenue, according to the Fontana Police Department.

Officers reportedly attempted to pull over a white Nissan Sentra for “vehicle code violations.” The driver did not yield and a high-speed pursuit ensued.

A short time later, the suspect lost control and collided with a police vehicle that was responding to the incident.

Two occupants of the Nissan were pronounced dead at the accident scene while two were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Two officers were transported to the hospital for treatment.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
