A semi-truck's trailer overturned onto a car and guardrail in the collision that happened early Tuesday morning on 10 Freeway
Desert Hot Springs, Calif. – One person was hospitalized with serious injuries after a big rig overturned onto a car early Tuesday morning in Desert Hot Springs, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The accident took place at about 12:15 a.m. on the eastbound 10 Freeway near Gene Autry Trail.
CHP said a semi-truck and a car were involved in the collision. The big rig's trailer overturned onto the car and guardrail, trapping an occupant.
The semi-truck was leaking fluids after the crash.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and extricated the trapped party. The victim was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center with major injuries.
About 100 feet of guardrail was damaged in the accident.
All eastbound lanes of the freeway remained closed as investigators worked the scene.
