Kent, Wash. – A 19-year-old Kent man was struck and seriously hurt by a vehicle in Kent on Monday morning, according to the authorities.

The accident took place on SE Kent Kangley Road and 132nd Avenue SE at about 7:12 a.m. February 5.

Authorities said the pedestrian was crossing SE Kent Kangley Road in the crosswalk against a red light when he was hit by a westbound vehicle on a green light.

The victim was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with a major head injury.

The driver, a 55-year-old Kent woman, stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
