Buttonwillow, Calif. – 25-year-old San Francisco man was killed and two women ages 26 and 24 hospitalized after a car crash on Interstate 5 in Buttonwillow early Monday morning.

The man was pronounced dead at the crash site.

The two women were taken to Kern Medical with severe and minor injuries.

The police said alcohol appeared to be a factor in the wreck.

Buttonwillow, Calif. – Authorities are investigating a deadly fiery crash on Interstate 5 in Buttonwillow early Monday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at around 3:34 a.m. on the southbound 5 Freeway at Lerdo Highway.

Investigators said the vehicle slammed into a parked semi- in unclear circumstances. The vehicle then became fully engulfed by fire.

One person was killed in the accident.

The identity of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.
