Preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a Chevrolet pickup truck ran a red light and struck three other vehicles before coming to rest at the southeast corner of the intersection.
Bakersfield, Calif. — At least one person was hospitalized after a reckless driver led to a multi-vehicle traffic collision in central Bakersfield Wednesday morning, according to a police report.
The accident happened just after 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of California Avenue and Chester Avenue.
According to the report, dispatchers received reports of a reckless driver in the area just moments before the crash.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a Chevrolet pickup truck ran a red light and struck three other vehicles before coming to rest at the southeast corner of the intersection.
One person sustained moderate injuries in the accident and was taken to the hospital. The pickup truck driver was arrested and evaluated for possible DUI.
The incident remains under investigation.
