Orianna Nicole Diosdado was struck by the vehicle while walking in a crosswalk at 19th Avenue and Union Hills Drive

Phoenix, Ariz. – 21-year-old Orianna Nicole Diosdado died after she was hit by a Phoenix garbage truck Thursday afternoon, police said.
The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. near 19th Avenue and Union Hills Drive.
Investigators said a City of Phoenix sanitation truck was traveling northbound on 19th when the driver made a right-hand turn at Union Hills and hit Diosdado.
The pedestrian was walking northbound in a marked crosswalk at the intersection.
Responding emergency personnel found the Diosdado with serious injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The truck driver involved stopped and remained at the scene.
Intoxication is not believed to be a contributing factor.

Phoenix, Ariz. – A woman was struck and killed by a truck Thursday afternoon at an intersection in North Phoenix.
According to Phoenix Police Department, the collision was reported at Union Hills Drive and 19th Avenue at around 3:30 p.m.
The preliminary investigation indicated that the woman was crossing the intersection when a garbage truck hit her.
The woman suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.
The truck driver stayed at the site and cooperated with the officers.
