Jose Valencia-Saucedo Dies in Hesperia Accident on Mariposa Road near Mesquite Street

, Calif.- Jose Valencia-Saucedo, 22, of Barstow, has been identified as one of the three people who were killed in a collision involving a suspected DUI driver in Hesperia on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Hesperia Sheriff's Station.

The crash happened on Mariposa Road near Mesquite Street at around 3:42 p.m. on February 20.

According to the report, Pavlo Padilla, 45, of Victorville, was driving a black 2016 Chevrolet Suburban northbound on Mariposa Road when he drifted into the path of oncoming traffic and slammed head-on into a southbound blue 2005 Toyota Corolla that was operated by Pedro Valencia-Perez, 58, of Barstow.

Pedro Valencia-Perez and Jose Valencia-Saucedo, who was one of his passengers, were both killed in the collision.

A second passenger, identified as Rosa Saucedo-Negrete, 59, of Barstow, was pronounced deceased at a hospital.

A third passenger in the Toyota, Francisco Valencia-Saucedo, 21, of Barstow, was hospitalized with serious injuries.

Pavlo Padilla was treated for serious injuries and was arrested on charges of DUI causing injury or death, and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

The incident remained under investigation.
