The Ceres man was transported to Doctors Medical Center where he died from his injuries
Ceres, Calif. – 22-year-old Giovani Gomez has been identified by the Stanislaus County Coroner's Office as the man who died after being struck by a car on Friday night in Ceres.
The fatal pedestrian accident happened around 7 p.m. on Service Road near Esmar Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Ceres man was walking in the area and was struck by a westbound pickup truck.
Gomez was transported to Doctors Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
The driver of the car was unhurt. He remained at the accident scene and cooperated with the police.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
