3 Hospitalized After Car Crash on Purisima Road in Lompoc

, Calif. – Three people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision that happened Saturday afternoon near the entrance to La Purisima Mission in Lompoc.

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department said the wreck took place around 3:15 p.m. on La Purisima Road at Mission Gate Road.

A Chevy Equinox and a Jeep were involved in the crash.

The male driver and female passenger of the Equinox got trapped in the wreckage. The occupants had to be freed through the front windshield.

Both victims were transported by AMR to Lompoc Valley Medical Center with moderate injuries.

The female driver of the Jeep was also taken to the same facility with minor injuries.

Authorities are investigating the collision.
