A 2017 Freightliner semi-truck pulling two trailers and a 2001 Nissan Frontier were involved in the crash that caused the Nissan to burst into flames
Singley, Calif. – Guadalupe Ramirez, 65, of Fortuna, was hurt in a deadly big rig collision on Tuesday night near Singley, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash waa reported at around 7:51 p.m. March 5, in the area of Singley Road and Singley Hill Road.
A 2017 Freightliner semi-truck pulling two trailers and a 2001 Nissan Frontier were involved in the crash that caused the Nissan to burst into flames.
The two occupants of the Nissan were trapped in the burning Nissan but one of them, identified as Guadalupe Ramirez, was pulled out by the big rig's driver and a bystander.
He was rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital in Eureka for treatment of major injuries.
The second occupant of the Nissan, identified as Daniel Ramirez, 16, of Fortuna, remained trapped and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The operator of the big rig, Logan Morais, 20, of McKinleyville, was not hurt.
The CHP is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
