, Ariz. – Authorities identified the woman who died in a DUI collision that happened Wednesday night on Interstate 10 in Phoenix as 38-year-old Debbie Alvarez.

22-year-old Dre Lewis was arrested following the collision.

The wreck involved two vehicles around 9:45 p.m. on Interstate 10 near the 51st Avenue overpass.

Authorities said Lewis reportedly ran a red light and slammed into a car traveling eastbound on the I- Access Road.

Alvarez was a passenger in the car that was hit. She was rushed to the hospital where she later died.

A child passenger in the same vehicle was ejected in the crash and remained hospitalized with serious injuries.

The driver of that car was also hospitalized in unknown condition.

Lewis was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was later released from the hospital and booked into the Maricopa County Jail on suspicion of manslaughter and extreme DUI.

Phoenix, Ariz. – A woman was killed and a child seriously hurt in a collision Wednesday night in Phoenix, according to the Phoenix police.

The wreck took place on I-10 and 51st Avenue at about 10 p.m. March 7.

Police said two vehicles were involved in the accident.

A woman in one of the vehicles was rushed to a hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

A child in the vehicle was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

The man driving the second vehicle was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and was suspected of DUI.

The identities of the involved parties were not immediately released.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
