, Calif. – A 10-year-old boy was seriously injured in a accident on Davona Drive in Dublin Wednesday morning.

The wreck was reported at around 8:05 a.m. on March 6 on Davona Drive near Chatam Street, according to Dublin Police Department.

A preliminary investigation indicated that a vehicle was going eastbound on Davona Drive when crashed into the young bicyclist.

The boy suffered severe injuries and was taken to UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital in for treatment.

His identity was not immediately disclosed.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police said drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision.

The cause of the mishap remains under investigation.
