Authorities said a driver attempted to pass a construction zone when he collided head-on with another driver.
Laveen Village, Arizona: A 19-year-old man died, and another person was hurt in a head-on collision that happened Friday evening in Laveen Village, authorities said.
According to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, two vehicles collided around 8 p.m. near Loop 202 and Broadway Road.
Deputies said the collision happened when a 19-year-old man attempted to pass a construction zone but ended up hitting another vehicle head-on.
The man was taken to the hospital but later died.
The other driver was also hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the collision was not immediately determined but the MCSO's Vehicular Crimes Unit is investigating.
