Four vehicles collided on the highway at rattlesnake curve near Mono City
Mono County, Calif. – At least one person was killed, and at least eight others were injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Sunday night in Mono County.
The California Highway Patrol said the crash was reported around 8:51 p.m. on Highway 395 near the rattlesnake curve, between Mono City and Bridgeport.
Four vehicles were involved in the accident. Debris from the crash was scattered all over the roadway.
Multiple fire engines from the Antelope Valley, Bridgeport, Mono City, and other fire departments responded to the scene.
At least one person died at the collision scene, the report said.
At least eight other persons suffered unspecified injuries. A helicopter was requested to respond to airlift at least one person to the hospital.
The report said three babies were involved in the crash but did not confirm if they were injured.
The highway was shut down following the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
