Cyclist Killed in Crash on Lozano Road near Ophir Elementary School in Placer County

Placer County, Calif. – A 70-year-old woman was killed in a accident on Lozano Road in Placer County Monday morning.

According to a local source, the wreck happened at around 11 a.m. along Lozano Road north of Chili Hill Road, near Ophir Elementary School.

Reportedly, a truck slammed into the bicyclist on the roadway for reasons not yet established.

The female cyclist was pronounced deceased at the crash site. Her name was not immediately released.

During the on-scene investigation, Ophir Elementary was shut down.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
