The accident happened early Saturday morning near Oak Knoll Avenue.
Napa, Calif. – The Napa County Sheriff-Coroner's Office has identified the man who died after being struck by a vehicle on Silverado Trail in Napa as Daniel Matos Guadarrama,26, of Yountville.
The accident was reported around 4:19 a.m. on northbound Silverado Trail, just north of Oak Knoll Avenue.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Guadarrama's vehicle broke down on Silverado Trail and he exited his vehicle. Guadarrama was reportedly moving about the freeway when he was struck by a silver Toyota RAV SUV.
Authorities say the woman operating the SUV was going at about 55 mph southbound on Silverado Avenue when she suddenly noticed Guadarrama in the roadway. She was unable to avoid hitting him.
Authorities say an off-duty Sonoma County sheriff's deputy stopped and provided medical aid to Guadarrama.
Unfortunately, Guadarrama succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The accident was reported around 4:19 a.m. on northbound Silverado Trail, just north of Oak Knoll Avenue.
The CHP report did not give details of the manner of the crash but said two vehicles were found at the scene. A silver Toyota Rav 4 had major front-end damage and a Jeep truck was stuck in mud.
One person, possibly a pedestrian, was lying in the roadway. A party was performing CPR on the victim.
Napa County sheriff's deputies and firefighters responded to the scene.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, as per the report.
Both vehicles were towed away from the scene.
Officers are collecting more information to establish what transpired leading to the collision.
