Bakersfield, CA. – The Kern County Coroner's Office has identified a man who died after being struck by a car at an intersection in Bakersfield on January 27.
The fatal auto-pedestrian accident happened near the intersection of 4th and V streets at around 11:23 p.m., according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
Maria Alicia Rios, 22, of Bakersfield, was walking in the area and was struck by a dark-colored pick-up truck traveling north near the 300 block of V Street.
Rios was taken to Kern Medical where she died on Jan. 30.
The driver fled the scene of the accident and was yet to be located.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
