Fresno County, CA – Multiple people were injured Sunday afternoon following a rollover traffic collision at an intersection crash in Fresno County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred just after 4 p.m. at the intersection of Floral and South Alta avenues.
According to the CHP, a Chevy Malibu ran a stop sign on South Alta Avenue and was clipped by another car crossing Floral Avenue. The Malibu lost control and overturned into a nearby canal.
CHP officers and crews from the Tulare County Fire Department responded to the scene and found one person ejected from the vehicle. Four other people were inside the overturned vehicle.
Two of the patients were airlifted to the hospital and three were transported by ambulance to the hospital. All five victims, believed to be in their 30s, are expected to survive.
Preliminary investigation showed that speed was a factor in the incident.
The crash remains under investigation.
