Newcastle, CA. – One person was hospitalized after two cars collided near Newcastle on Monday morning.
The crash happened on the eastbound 80 Freeway near Gilardi Road at around 4:43 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Two vehicles were involved in the collision. The events leading up to the accident were not immediately established. A big rig ran over debris from the crash and ruptured a fuel tank.
