Phoenix, Arizona: Four people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Monday morning on Loop 202 in east Phoenix.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred around 9:15 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the Red Mountain Freeway just west of 44th Street.
Reportedly, traffic was moving slowly when a van failed to slow down and rear-ended other vehicles. Four cars were involved in the crash.
Four people sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious. Phoenix firefighters had to use rescue equipment to free one person from one of the cars.
Westbound Loop 202 at 40th Street was closed during the investigation.
