Reportedly, Soto was crossing the street when for unknown reasons a vehicle hit him and fled the scene before the officers arrived

Bakersfield, CA. – 32-year-old Jonathan Chaidez Soto of Bakersfield was identified as the victim in Hit-and-Run crash in East Bakersfield Thursday night.
According to the authorities, the incident happened at around 9:29 p.m. on March 21 in the 2500 block of Columbus Street.
Reportedly, Soto was crossing the street when for unknown reasons a vehicle hit him and fled the scene before the officers arrived.
Soto sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver is at large.
