According to the deputies, a man was hit by a vehicle in the westbound lanes of Folsom Boulevard
Rancho Cordova, CA – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in Rancho Cordova on Monday evening, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department.
Emergency crews responded to the incident at about 6:15 p.m. on Folsom Boulevard near Mine Shaft Lane.
According to the deputies, a man was hit by a vehicle in the westbound lanes of Folsom Boulevard. The circumstances under which the crash happened were unclear.
The victim was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased shortly after.
The involved motorist stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The westbound lanes of Folsom Boulevard were shut down following the incident.
An investigation to establish the cause of the collision is underway.
