As the boy was running across the road, he was hit by a northbound vehicle traveling at low speed

Pacific Beach, CA – A child was hit and injured by a vehicle in Pacific Beach on Saturday evening, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The accident took place in the 5000 block of Soledad Road on Saturday, April 6.
Police said a 6-year-old boy was standing on the west curb as his mother was unpacking their vehicle. The boy then darted eastbound across Soledad Road when he saw his dad on the other side.
As the boy was running across the road, he was hit by a northbound vehicle traveling at low speed.
The boy sustained a fractured pelvis and was taken to a hospital.
The driver, a 75-year-old man, stayed at the scene after the accident.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
