Two vehicles reportedly collided on the southbound side of I-5 and one of them flipped

Sacramento, CA – One person was killed while two others were critically injured in a collision between two vehicles in south Sacramento early Sunday morning, according to the Sacramento Fire Department.
The crash took place just after 5 a.m. on Interstate 5, between Laguna Boulevard and Meadowview Road.
Two vehicles reportedly collided on the southbound side of I-5 and one of them flipped.
Two people were ejected from the flipped vehicle and one of them was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A second occupant of the vehicle was taken to a hospital with critical injuries.
The second vehicle came to a rest in a field off the roadway.
The occupant of that vehicle was also transported to hospital with critical injuries.
Speed is suspected to have played a role in the crash.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
